She’s grown up on television, but Candace Cameron-Bure has also tied the knot and raised a beautiful family — and she recently revealed the secret to her longtime marriage.

“I’m like yes spending time together, that’s the secret, you gotta see each other,” the Fuller House actress, 43, quipped exclusively to Closer Weekly in a new video interview. “The kids are older now so it’s different. But our schedules are — we both travel a lot — so we’re trying to figure it out. Now that we’re empty-nesters it’s like a whole new relationship, so it’s really great.”

“Now it’s like when we’re both home we clear our schedules so that we spend time together,” the star continued. The happy couple married in 1996, and they share three kids — sons Lev, 19, and Maksim, 17, and daughter Natasha, 21.

When the pair do find themselves at home together, there is a certain thing they both love to do. “Our favorite thing is just to eat,” Cameron revealed. “That sounds so simple, but we love cooking at home. And we usually chill out and watch a movie and cuddle up on the couch or sit outside — we live in LA.”

“We sit out on the back and play tug of war with [our dog] Boris, and have a glass of wine by the fire pit,” Candace added. “The older you get, that’s what you like. It’s all about the chill and relaxing. This isn’t the first time that the Full House alum has gushed about her love — she once left a very sweet message in honor of his birthday.

“He won’t see this, he’s not on social media, and my best birthday gift I could give him is to not come back to Instagram all day,” Candace wrote about Valeri via Instagram earlier this year. “You might want to leave him a message if you have his number but he doesn’t have voicemail either. He’s a special one and I’m glad he’s mine.”

Be sure to catch the fifth and final season of Fuller House when it hits Netflix on Friday, December 6
