When in doubt, get a puppy! Busy Philipps revealed she and husband Marc Silverstein recently gifted their 11-year-old daughter Birdie a new dog. The Busy Tonight star shared the exciting news on Monday, March 16.

“The puppy’s name is Gina Linetti,” the 40-year-old beauty wrote alongside a photo of her eldest child petting the adorable Golden Doodle. “Birdie named her because Gina Linetti is her dog.”

Although the caramel-colored poodle — whose name was inspired by Brooklyn Nine-Nine actress Chelsea Peretti‘s character — is technically all Birdie’s, Busy noted she, Marc, 48, and of course, 6-year-old daughter, Cricket, are “obviously OVER THE MOON about her sudden arrival into our life.”

“And! As it turns out, we have some time to devote to training and bonding with Gina right now (and also for the foreseeable future),” the Cougar Town alum joked, noting she’s quarantined her famous family after social distancing measures were recently put in place to help limit the spread of the worldwide coronavirus pandemic.

Fans of the doting mom of two gushed over the super cute pooch in the comments section of her post. “Gah! Who doesn’t love a puppy,” one user wrote, while another added, “Omg! So precious. Love the name.” A third chimed in, commenting, “This is positivity that I needed today.”

Hours before Busy — who tied the knot with her American screenwriter husband in 2007 — announced Birdie was the proud mom of her new pup, she shared a pic with Gina Linetti. “Just a couple of bitches in self-quarantine,” she hilariously wrote in the caption. “Goodnight, you guys. I love you.”

Getting a new dog to be cooped up with at home sounds like the perfect way to be quarantined, but Busy recently dished that her daughters “don’t think I’m a fun mom.”

“I swear,” the Dawson’s Creek actress exclusively told Closer Weekly, adding “I think they just think I’m a mom. I don’t think they really think I’m that fun. I mean, I do arts and crafts with them … I tried to do a TikTok video with Birdie, that was a disaster. That’s not for me.”

While Birdie and Cricket may not consider Busy the most entertaining parent, she did reveal to Closer the importance of letting her little girls express themselves as young women.

The one way to help empower my kids to just be who they want to be and say the things that they want to say and believe in the things that they want to believe in, is that I have to live that as well,” she explained, pointing out that she makes sure to “practice what I preach” in a world filled with unrealistic expectations.

In our opinion, Busy seems like one of the best and coolest moms in Hollywood!
