Rest in peace, Burt Reynolds. The beloved Hollywood icon — who passed away at age 82 on Sept. 6 — was remembered by his family and close friends at a private funeral held at Family Church in West Palm Beach, FL today, Wednesday, Sept. 19.

According to photos obtained by Closer Weekly, the service began with a welcome and opening prayer followed by a performance of “Forward to the Moon” by singer-songwriter Cooper Getschal, who was previously a student in Burt’s master acting class at the Burt Reynolds Institute for Film and Theatre.

Next, Burt’s longtime friend Mo Mustaine took the stage to deliver a recollection of Burt’s prolific life. Closer Weekly additionally learned that the actor’s former flame Sally Field did attend Burt’s funeral and entered the church through a side door before the sevice began.

Burt’s funeral service also included a performance from pianist Copeland Davis and a eulogy from the actor’s Last Movie Star co-star Todd Vittum.

Broadway star Avery Sommers additionally performed a rendition of “Amazing Grace” during the event.

Burt’s funeral concluded with a prayer from his Smokey and the Bandit II co-star Patrick Moody.

Burt is survived by his 30-year-old son, Quinton Anderson Reynolds, whom he adopted with his ex-wife Loni Anderson.

Prior to his death, Burt exclusively told Closer Weekly that is son, Quinton, was his “greatest achievement” in life.

“He’s a wonderful young man and is now working as a camera assistant in Hollywood. He never asked for any help with his career, he did it all himself, and I’m so proud of him. I love him very much,” Burt told Closer in mid-July.

During a previous exclusive interview with Closer, Burt revealed he had no regrets despite enduring some rocky times throughout his life.
