Bridget Moynahan admitted that it’s been hard to walk away from Blue Bloods after portraying Erin Reagan for 14 seasons.

The New York native appeared on Sherri to dish on what it was like filming the show’s final season and the emotional farewell.

“It’s bittersweet. I want my job back!” Bridget, 53, confessed. “It was a good run. Fourteen years with a group of people, we were a family on and off the screen.”

The cast finished filming the show’s final season in June. She praised her costars for an incredible run and pledged to keep in contact with them.

“Vanessa, Donnie and I, we get together,” Bridget explained. “We’re still celebrating people’s birthdays and having fun out there. So, [I] miss them on a daily basis.”

Prior to the final season airing, Bridget admitted that waving goodbye to Blue Bloods and the cast and crew was difficult.

“I think it’s more saying goodbye to the people behind the characters,” she said during an April appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show. “We’ve created such a family on set with each other and the crew — most of the crew’s been with us for 14 years, so we’ve been through a lot of weddings, births, deaths, and everything. We’ve been through it all with each other.”

For fans who are holding out hope for a possible spinoff of the show, several of the show’s stars have spoken out about the possibility, including Donnie Wahlberg.

“There’s been a lot of talk about spinoffs, about various spinoffs, all types of concepts of spinoffs. I, for me personally, would say whatever happens next, if it’s done with the spirit of Blue Bloods and done with the care that we tried to put into Blue Bloods every week, it would be something that I would look forward to watching or being a part of either way,” Donnie, 55, told TV Insider on October 17. “I’ve heard stories of prequels, sequels, you name it. For me personally, I love the show. I’ve enjoyed working on it for 14 years and like I said, whatever comes next, as long as it has family at its core and the spirit of Blue Bloods, then I’m all for it.”

The second half of the final season of Blue Bloods began airing on October 18.

“I think what I do know is there are millions of people who love this show and want it to continue somehow some way,” he added. “And if there’s a way that we can give them some extension of Blue Bloods, then great. I have nothing more to offer than that, but I will be enjoying the final eight episodes with the fans. That’s my priority right now.”

Donnie previously said that he and his costars felt “more upset and sad” than “happy and satiated” when they learned the show would not be returning for another season after 14.

“I love Blue Bloods, and I think if there weren’t a season 14, the loyal fans of the show would be very, very outraged,” he told People in April after the show was renewed for its final season. “They’re part of the Reagan family. The audience is the extended family.”
