Ursula Andress, Halle Berry, and More Iconic Bond Girls Then and Now!

What is a James Bond film without a Bond Girl? Whether a love interest or just a sidekick, these femme fatales prove they could hold their own next to the British secret service agent — and sometimes even save the day!

From the very first Bond Girl Ursula Andress as Honey Ryder to Grace Jones' May Day to Halle Berry's iconic turn in that orange bikini, we are looking back at some of the women that helped make the franchise a worldwide phenomenon. Ursula recently turned 81 years old, but she still has fond memories of her time on set with Sean Connery.

"Sean is a marvelous person," she said. "From the day I met him… we are still good friends. He stayed exactly the same person I met in 1962. Down to earth, simple, and real. He's a fabulous person and marvelous actor… Everybody said, 'Ok, that's a wrap, goodbye,' and that's it. Nobody thought ever it was going to be this successful."

More recently, Bond Girl Léa Seydoux opened up about earning the role of Madeleine Swann in Spectre — and loves how the character holds her own next to Daniel Craig's 007. "It’s the first time I think we see a character that’s James Bond’s equal. She doesn’t need him. I think it’s a good representation to have a character like this, to see a tough woman who’s not just an object of desire," she told Refinery 29. "You don’t see her in bathing suits. She’s smart, and then they fall in love. For me, it’s more than just a beautiful face. She’s sensitive, and for me that’s beauty."

With Bond 25 expected to be released in 2019, we can't wait to see which actress will take on the Bond Girl role next. Click through the gallery below for your favorite Bond Girls then and now!
