Got your back, Aunt Becky. Bob Saget finally shared his thoughts on Lori Loughlin’s alleged involvement in the college admissions scandal and it looks like he’s standing by his Fuller House costar. The comedian broke his silence about the ordeal while leaving Ava restaurant in Beverly Hills on Thursday, March 28.
“You know, I usually don’t do interviews on the street, but, uh, you know, you love who you love in your life,” Saget, 62, told TMZ while getting into his car. “I just love who I love. Candace [Cameron-Bure] said it really good at the Kids’ Choice Awards — you love who you love … Life’s complicated. I don’t like talking about it.”
The star was referring to when Cameron-Bure, 42, seemingly showed support for Loughlin at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards on March 23. The actress took the stage with her Fuller House costars to accept the prize for Favorite Funny TV Show and discussed how family sticks together.
“Where there’s a lot of heart, there’s a lot of love,” Cameron-Bure said. “And a loving family sticks together no matter what. They stick together through the hard times, they support each other, they encourage one another, they pray for each other, and they stand by their side, no matter how tough it gets. And a loving family that sticks together also celebrates the really good times together.”
Loughlin’s other costar, John Stamos, was spotted leaving the same venue as Saget on March 28, but he refused to answer any questions. The actor, 55, who played Loughlin’s husband on the series, explained that didn’t want to address the situation yet. “I will at some point, I’m just not ready to talk about it,” he said.
Loughlin faces charges of conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services fraud. She and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, are accused of paying $500,000 in bribes to secure a position for their daughters, Olivia Jade and Isabella Rose, as recruits of the USC crew team. The actress surrendered herself on March 13 and was later released on a $1 million bond. Giannulli was also released after posting a $1 million bond. The couple is scheduled to appear in court next on April 3.
