Bindi Irwin wears pregnancy well! The expecting mom has never looked happier since announcing she’s pregnant with her and husband Chandler Powell‘s first child. Whether she’s spotted on an outing or posting an update on social media, photos of the mom-to-be’s growing baby bump prove she can’t wait to welcome her little one.

The beloved daughter of late TV star Steve Irwin first announced she was pregnant with the couple’s first baby, a daughter, in August 2020. Bindi revealed the exciting news alongside a super cute photo of the two holding up a baby-sized khaki uniform.

“Baby Wildlife Warrior due 2021. Chandler and I are proud to announce that we’re expecting!” the Bindi, the Jungle Girl alum marveled on Instagram. “It’s an honor to share this special moment in our lives with you.”

Bindi said although she was still in the “first trimester” at the time, the adorable lovebirds — who tied the knot in March 2020 — “couldn’t wait to share the news” with all their fans. “We really want you to be part of our journey from the beginning of this new life chapter,” she sweetly continued. “This beautiful little being has become the most important part of our lives.”

Following the heartwarming announcement, a source close to the Crikey! It’s the Irwins star told Closer Weekly her famous family was “ecstatic” about baby No. 1. In fact, the Australian TV personality’s mom, Terri Irwin, “is over the moon. She’s already planning on being a doting grandma.”

As for Bindi and Chandler, the two are extremely “excited about starting a family,” the insider added. However, the beloved conservationist’s pregnancy is “very bittersweet” because she wishes her late father, who died in 2006, could be around to watch her become a mom.

Bindi echoed that sentiment during an interview with Entertainment Tonight in February 2021. “He would’ve been a good, good grandpa. Yeah, he really would’ve been,” she sweetly shared. “I don’t think we would’ve ever seen our daughter. He would’ve just whisked her away into the zoo and it would’ve been perfect.”

Fortunately, Bindi revealed how she plans to honor her late dad’s memory. “It is so nice that we’ll be able to introduce her to her grandfather through all of the documentaries,” she gushed. “It’s really special.”
