Calling all Fixer Upper fans! Your favorite couple Chip Gaines and Joanna Gaines previously announced their spin-off, Fixer Upper: Behind the Design, was happening. And now, we know it will premiere on April 10, just one week after the series finale of Fixer Upper.

The show will focus on the designs featured in each episode of Fixer Upper and will serve as a companion 30 minute long series for viewers. “We have a lot of questions about the designs and what goes on on Fixer Upper and how we get from point A to Z when it comes to these houses, these projects from a design point,” Joanna explained in an Instagram post last March. “[The series] focuses on each project, and you get more inside scoop on how we came about with a lot of the decisions and design elements that we got to incorporate.”

In the new release, she shared, “I can’t wait to show our fans how every piece of the design comes together before the final reveal I want to nail every detail so that, when we walk away, Chip and I know we’ve given a family the one-of-a-kind home of their dreams.” Chip added, “Jo puts her heart and soul into every fixer upper we design. Our hope is that these homes become a beautiful part of each family’s next chapter.”

Back when the couple — who are expecting baby No. 5 — announced the new show, fans immediately took to the comments to show their excitement for the new series. One commenter wrote, “You guys are the real deal, love your show. Can hardly wait for Behind the Design!” While another added, “This is just the best news, Joanna! You are such an inspiration — can’t wait to learn more about the design process!”

They announced their spin-off before they revealed this season would be the last of Fixer Upper. “It is with both sadness and expectation that we share the news that Season 5 of Fixer Upper will be our last,” the couple shared in September. “While we are confident that this is the right choice for us, it has for sure not been an easy one to come to terms with. Our family has grown up alongside yours, and we have felt you rooting us on from the other side of the screen. How bittersweet to say goodbye to the very thing that introduced us all in the first place.” We’ll miss Fixer Upper — but we can’t wait to watch their new show!
