They’re back! The cast of Beverly Hills, 90210 has joined forces once again for a reboot that is set to be released later this summer — but there’s already a promo for it!
The first teaser doesn’t exactly show any new footage, but it does showcase cast members Jennie Garth, Brian Austin Green, Tori Spelling, Jason Priestley, Ian Ziering, Shannen Doherty and Gabrielle Carteris.
“Here it is, baby,” Ian, who plays Steve Sanders, says in the clip while holding up a copy of the script. The promo then shows the group all sitting down on a table, laughing it up — perhaps telling some classic stories about each other? The show is set to air on Wednesday, August 7 on Fox. According to Tori, 45, everyone will be playing “heightened versions” of themselves.
“The fans will be pleasantly surprised, though, because we will intercut that with scenes from the show. So it’ll be a whole ensemble cast,” the Stori Telling author explained to Access Live back in February. However, the network spilled some more details on the plot, as they describe it as a “brand-new serialized drama — with a healthy dose of irreverence — that is inspired by their real lives and relationships with each other.”
“Having gone their separate ways since the original series ended 19 years ago, Shannen, Jason, Jennie, Ian, Gabrielle, Brian and Tori reunite when one of them suggests it’s time to get a Beverly Hills, 90210 reboot up and running. But getting it going may make for an even more delicious soap than the reboot itself,” the description continues. “What will happen when first loves, old romances, friends and frenemies come back together, as this iconic cast — whom the whole world watched grow up together — attempts to continue from where they left off?”
The BH90210 reboot will run for six episodes.
Absent from the show will be Luke Perry, who passed away on March 4 after suffering a massive stroke.
