Just two months after the cancellation of ‘Hot in Cleveland’ was announced in November, Betty White is already making a comeback — at age 93!

“Betty will never retire,” her pal exclusively shares with ‘Closer’ as her limited series, ‘Betty White’s Smartest Animals in America,’ premieres on Jan. 17, her 93rd birthday.

“She doesn’t need the money. She works to stay young!” the friend added.

Her friend says Betty “traveled across and even out of the country” this summer on a “once-in-a-lifetime trip” to meet elephants, pigs and other wildlife.

“Any excuse to be around animals, I’ll take it!” Betty shares. “I have to stay in show business to pay for all my animal work!”

When the ‘Great American Country’ show debuts on her birthday, “Betty will host a small viewing party for a group of [animal] volunteers to celebrate,” her pal reveals.
