It’s almost finally over. Three years after Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner filed for divorce, the estranged Hollywood couple is almost close to being divorced. According to a new report by TMZ, Ben and Jen’s divorce was delayed because they were having issues figuring out how to divide their assets because they didn’t have a prenup, but now they have finally struck a divorce agreement.

Since Ben and Jen are A-list celebs, they had a lot of property to divide and, according to insiders, all of the money they earned during their 12-year marriage was put together before it was divided up.

Another thing that made their divorce complicated was the fact that the couple shares three children together — 12-year-old daughter Violet, nine-year-old daughter Seraphina, and six-year-old son Samuel. In terms of the custody agreement, Ben and Jen agreed to joint custody. According to TMZ, the documents don’t include any information about how much custodial time each parent will receive, and it may be because Jen and Ben already have a great co-parenting system in place and they are able to come up with their own custody arrangements based on their busy schedules on their own without a judge’s help.

Even though an agreement has been reached, Ben’s sobriety is one more obstacle that the former couple will have to face before they can actually finalize his divorce. Ben has struggled with his addiction for years, and his estranged wife is the one who intervened and asked him to seek help last week, and he agreed. He is currently in rehab being treated for the third time for alcohol abuse. Sources told TMZ that once Ben completes his rehab program, he will be able to sign off on their divorce settlement, then the paperwork can be filed and the divorce will be finalized.
