Friends Fear Ben Affleck is on the Verge of a Breakdown Amid Jennifer Garner Divorce - Closer Weekly

It seems Ben Affleck is having a hard time with his divorce from Jennifer Garner.

According to a new report, friends close to the 43-year-old actor are fearful Ben is on the verge of a breakdown in the wake of his split with Jen, also 43, in June after 10 years of marriage.

“Ben’s a shadow of his former self — bloated, down and completely torn over what to do,” an insider told Radar Online. The source additionally revealed the 13 Going on 30 star has agreed to put their divorce negotiations on hold due to Ben’s strained emotional state.

“Jen’s been using the delay to try and fix things,” the friend continued. “Ben can’t believe she even wants to give him another chance after how he’s behaved but she feels she should because of the kids.”

“Jen’s hoping he can pull himself together, but even she admits she’s being very optimistic,” the source said. “[But] he’s burnt her so many times and her friends are urging her to not give him any more chances. He’ll never change and he doesn’t deserve it.”

Ben and Jen married in June 2005 and are parents to three kids; Violet, 9, Seraphina, 6, and Samuel, 3.
