It has been three years since Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner rocked the world and announced they were getting a divorce. But now it seems that time heals some wounds as reports are saying that Ben and Jennifer are in a “good place.”

A friend of the couple tells PEOPLE that Ben and Jennifer are working hard together to co-parent their kids: 12-year-old Violet, nine-year-old Seraphina, and six-year-old Samuel. “Jen and Ben continue to work together to make their parenting as seamless as possible,” the friend says. “They really like to do things as a family, be it outings, church, cooking or watching movies.” “They have both had some ups and downs this year, and they seem to be in a good place,” the source adds.

It does seem like Ben and Jen may be hashing things out as a source also recently told the outlet that the pair spent Thanksgiving together. “Jen, Ben and the kids were in Montana for Thanksgiving,” the source revealed, adding, “This was long planned. They always celebrate big holidays together as a family. The family all spent Thanksgiving together and they all cooked.”

It also helps that Jennifer is reportedly completely happy with her new boyfriend, John Miller. “Jennifer is extremely happy with John,” a source told Us. “Jen has been thankful for John’s stable love and support during issues she has faced with [Ben Affleck’s] sobriety. He isn’t jealous and understands Jen’s commitment to helping Ben.”

A lot sure has changed in the last three years. Ben and Jennifer have gone different routes since they both decided to say so long to each other and get a divorce, and both have gone on to date other people and star in different films and TV shows as well. Jennifer has appeared in things like Love, SimonPeppermint, and Camping, while Ben has decided to annoy us all by portraying Bruce Wayne/Batman.
