Ben Affleck and Jen Garner Are in ‘A Great Place’ As Coparents: ‘The Kids Are Their No. 1 Priority’
Still working as a team! Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner might not be married anymore, but that hasn’t gotten in the way of continuing to be great role models for their children.
“The kids are their number one priority, and they’re both amazing, hands-on parents,” an insider exclusively tells Closer Weekly. “They’re getting a lot better these days and are in a great place, which makes coparenting so much easier. They even go to each other’s houses and catch up over coffee.” Wow!
The actor, 47, and the Alias alum, also 47, tied the knot in 2005 before parting ways in 2018. They share three kids — daughters Violet, 14, and Seraphina, 11, and son Samuel, 7. However, the Oscar-winner wishes he could turn back time on his divorce, as he recently opened up about splitting up with the actress.
“The biggest regret of my life is this divorce,” the Justice League star explained to The New York Times, adding that he still feels a certain way over the breakup. “Shame is really toxic. There is no positive byproduct of shame. It’s just stewing in a toxic, hideous feeling of low self-worth and self-loathing.” Ben also touched on what led to the two A-listers calling it quits.
“People with compulsive behavior, and I am one, have this kind of basic discomfort all the time that they’re trying to make go away,” the Hollywood star told the the outlet. “You’re trying to make yourself feel better with eating or drinking or sex or gambling or shopping or whatever. But that ends up making your life worse. Then you do more of it to make that discomfort go away. Then the real pain starts. It becomes a vicious cycle you can’t break.”
“That’s at least what happened to me,” he added.
Even though they have had ups and downs, it certainly is great to know that Ben and Jennifer are still striving to do the best for their little ones!
