She has played many different roles, but her best one yet is being a grandma! In a new interview with the U.K. website The Times, Barbra Streisand opened up about being a grandmother for the first time after stepson Josh Brolin‘s wife, Kathryn Boyd, gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Westlyn Reign Brolin, in November.

“Oh my gosh! That, to me, is a real accomplishment, to have this little baby, this live thing in my life,” the 76-year-old legend gushed about granddaughter Westlyn. “I’m wearing a bracelet that Josh and Kathryn gave me, engraved with ‘Grandma.’ I never take it off.”

Barbra has already started helping out with the new baby, too. “I changed a diaper last week. When I last diapered a baby, my son [Jason Gould, 52], it was cloth diapers with safety pins.” Even though it’s been a while since her last time taking care of a baby, she still feels completely at ease around children.

“The other day Josh sent me a video of [Westlyn] laughing. She was being tickled. Well, I started to laugh so hysterically that my husband videoed the back of my head watching the video of the baby,” the EGOT winner recalled. Barbra laughed so hard, in fact, she wished she could of had seen that video during her time shooting her 1970 movie, The Owl and the Pussycat. Since she had a lot of trouble trying to laugh in one of the scenes, the film’s crew had to play her a recording of something funny. “Oh my God, where was Westlyn when I was doing The Owl and the Pussycat?” the singer gushed.

Having Westlyn around has reminded Barbra of what’s really important in her life. On Christmas Eve, she shared the cutest photo to Instagram of herself holding Westlyn and captioned it: “My granddaughter‘s precious little hands and feet. What’s truly important … Life and love.”

Baby Westlyn is so lucky to have Barbra as a grandmother!
