Marty, Doc, Biff, and Lorraine are back together again! More than 30 years after Back to the Future hit theaters, stars Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd, Thomas F. Wilson, and Lea Thompson reunited on Saturday, Aug. 11 and the pics of the foursome hanging out have fans of the classic movie obsessed.
"Four old friends get back from the future," Lea, 57, wrote alongside one pic of the group on her Instagram account. Michael, also 57, and Thomas, 59, then posted similar pics with the captions, "Back in 2018, even Biff made it," and, "Wow. This just happened," respectively.
Of course, Back to the Future fans just couldn't get enough of the awesome cast reunion photos. "I'm very happy to see them together again!" one person commented with another adding, "This photo just gave me goose bumps! The BTTF movies were such a special part of my teen years. You all look wonderful and youthful! Thanks for the memories!!!"
During a recent exclusive interview with Closer Weekly, Lea — who famously portrayed Marty McFly's mother, Lorraine Baines-McFly, in all three Back to the Future films — candidly opened up about her memories of working with co-star Michael.
"He’s so funny, clever, and self-deprecating, yet strong. If you want an old memory... I didn’t realize he was a star then," she told us. "We shared a little trailer [on set], and we couldn’t get out because these neighborhood girls [trapped us inside]. I was like, 'I guess he really is famous!'"
In the past, Lea has also opened up about the possibility of Back to the Future returning to the big screen for another sequel. "I’ve heard Bob Zemeckis, who was the writer and director of the movie, I think he holds the rights. Until he passes, I don’t think there will ever be a sequel. But maybe after he goes, Universal will do it," she told People in 2017.
"But that’s not for a long time," she said before adding that she would "of course" reprise her role as Lorraine if another film ever got made. For now, we're just happy with the new cast reunion photos!
