Madonna may be the ultimate "Material Girl," but for a new photo shoot with 'Interview Magazine,' the iconic singer ditched her clothes to pose topless — and it seems not everyone is happy about it.
During an appearance on the British talk show 'Loose Women,' Annie Lennox, 59, questioned why Madonna, 56, felt the need to pose so provocatively and said she believes the star is only baring her breasts to elicit shock.
"I don't think it's down to me (to judge Madonna)... I think already the verdict is probably out, would you not agree on that one? I think the question is, 'What is Madonna telling us?' Anybody know?" she said.
"I think it's attention seeking," 'Loose Women' panelist Janet Street Porter interjected, to which Annie replied: "I think it is."
Though Annie added she has no issue with women in showbiz proudly showing off their bodies, the singer has been previously outspoken in her negative opinion of modern pop stars relying on their sexuality to sell their music. It's a "devaluation of women" she once said on the topic.
