Another Hollywood couple has sadly called it quits. Anne Heche and James Tupper have allegedly split after 10 years and one child together, Us Weekly reported on Friday, Jan. 12. According to court documents obtained by the entertainment news outlet, Anne, 48, recently filed a petition to obtain custody of their son and is seeking child support from James, 52, in their separation.

Anne and James began dating in summer 2007 and welcomed their only child, son Atlas Heche Tupper, 8, in March 2009. Atlas was the first child for James and the second for Anne, who previously welcomed a son, Homer Laffoon, 15, with her ex-husband, cameraman Coleman “Coley” Laffoon.

Before her partnership with James, Anne famously dated Ellen DeGeneres from 1997 until 2000. Shortly after her breakup with Ellen, The Brave star married first husband Coley in September 2001. Anne later filed for divorce after nearly six years of marriage and subsequently lost custody of her eldest son, Homer. At the time, it was reported that the actress left her husband, Coley, for James, her co-star on the ABC comedy-drama Men In Trees.

In a recent, exclusive interview with Closer Weekly, Anne candidly opened up about why she and James never married and revealed she was perfectly happy being “eternally engaged” to the Big Little Lies star. “Eternally engaged is fantastic. Every year I get a new ring, and I am not kidding,” she told us, to which James replied, “I feel pressure to get re-engaged!”

“I have quite a collection [of rings],” Anne once told The New York Times of her probably 10-ring stash. “Besides, I’ve been married before and so has he. I don’t know what either of us would gain or what would change that would benefit us.” At the time, Anne didn’t totally rule out the idea that she and James might tie the knot in the future. “When I’m 60, I’m happy to walk down the aisle!” she said.
