Anne Hathaway's Husband Adam Shulman: Meet the Jewelry Designer

Dating and relationships weren’t always easy for Anne Hathaway. Luckily, that all changed when she met Adam Shulman. The beloved Princess Diaries star — who is currently pregnant with the couple’s second child — has never seemed happier since tying the knot with her handsome hunk over seven years ago.

Although Anne, 36, keeps much of their lives private, she has opened up many times in the past regarding their fairytale love story. In fact, the Academy Award-winning actress once revealed she told her friend that Adam, 38, was The One for her when they first met at the Palm Springs Film Festival in fall 2008.

“I’m going to marry that man,” she told the U.K. version of Harper’s BAZAAR in 2014 of what she confided to her close pal. “I knew from the second I met him that he was the love of my life.” Anne opened up even further, revealing trust issues from past relationships took a toll on her when the two first crossed paths.

“I was just very honest with him,” the Oceans 8 star explained. “I also knew that I couldn’t have met him at a worse time … I took my trust out for a ridiculous joyride with him.”

Around the time she met Adam, Anne was right in the middle of ex-boyfriend Raffaello Follieri‘s legal troubles. In 2008, the Italian businessman was imprisoned for fraud after he was secretly funneling money from his charities for years after he met Anne in 2004.

“[I told Adam,] ‘I believe, because I need to believe, that what just happened to me was the exception and not the rule, and that people are good and you are a good person, because I feel it,'” Anne explained, despite being hurt from former romances. “And so I am not in a good place right now, but I’m going with this. And he has never hurt me.”

Looking back on their envious romance, Anne gushed to ELLE in 2017 about how Adam impacted her life. “He changed my ability to be in the world comfortably,” she shared at the time. “I think the accepted narrative now is that we, as women, don’t need anybody. But I need my husband. His unique and specific love has changed me.”

He’s a Jewelry Designer

Besides his acting career, Adam makes a living by being a jewelry designer. In fact, he owns his own company called James Banks Design, which he co-owns with partner Heidi Nahser Fink.

According to the company’s website, Adam and Heidi create their pieces in Northern California by “old-world techniques using such tools as hammers and stakes for forming, saws for piercing, rolling mill and drawplates for baking sheet and wire, propane/oxygen torch for soldering.”

Fun fact: Adam even helped create Anne’s engagement ring!

He and Anne Got Married in 2012

Adam and Anne found their happily ever after when they tied the knot at a private wedding in September 2012. The Devil Wears Prada actress wore a stunning white Valentino gown for the ceremony at a private estate in Big Sur, California.

The happy couple was joined by more than 100 family members and friends as they said their I do’s.

He Became a Dad in 2016

Adam became a dad for the first time when he and Anne welcomed their now 3-year-old son, Jonathan Rosebanks Shulman, in March 2016. At the time of the little one’s birth, a source close to the pair revealed how thrilled they were to welcome a baby into their brood.

“Adam has been really helpful and is so excited about baby [Jonathan],” a source told ET in April 2016. “Adam and Anne are doing great as a couple and this whole baby process is a bonding experience for them both. ‘One baby at a time,’ [Anne said], but she would not mind one more after this.” Aww!

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Adam is worth a whopping $1 million. Shortly after graduating from college, he pursued a career in Hollywood. He Helped Inspire His Son’s Middle Name

According to ET, Anne and Adam found a super sweet way to come up with a middle name for their first child. Around the time of his arrival, The Hustle actress dished where the inspiration came from.

Anne explained that her paternal grandfather was named Roseline and Adam’s mother’s maiden name is Banks — so the couple put the two together to get Rosebanks!
