Your First Look at Legendary Actress Ann-Margret’s Debut on SYFY’s ‘Happy!’ (Exclusive)
We’re so Happy! to see Ann-Margret! The triple threat joins the SYFY series as a recurring guest star — and she makes her grand entrance on the episode airing tonight (Wednesday, April 10).
Closer Weekly has obtained an exclusive first look at Ann-Margret’s Happy! debut. The 77-year-old legend plays the role of Bebe DeBarge who, fittingly, is also a former siren of the stage and screen. The video shows Bebe interacting with the show’s titular character, Happy (voiced by Patton Oswalt), as she lounges about her luxurious apartment and gives the small, blue, winged unicorn some advice.

Not seen in the clip is the show’s other main star, Christopher Meloni‘s Nick Sax. Ann-Margret previously worked with the 58-year-old actor in a guest appearance on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit — which she earned her first and only Emmy for in 2010. Christopher personally reached out to the Bye Bye Birdie actress to see if she would appear on Happy! and, luckily, her answer was yes.
Happy! is based on the graphic novel of the same name by writer Grant Morrison and artist Darick Robertson. The eight-episode first season ran from December 6, 2017, until January 31, 2018, and season two began on March 27, 2019. SNL‘s Bobby Moynihan originally voiced Happy in the pilot.
It follows the story of a disgraced police detective, Nick, who moonlights as a hitman on the side to pay for drugs and alcohol. After suffering a heart attack, he meets Happy. The hitch? Only he can see the colorful creature. Happy is the imaginary friend of a little girl named Hailey — Nick’s estranged daughter — who has been kidnapped by “Very Bad Santa.” Together, the two set out to save Hailey.
Happy! airs Wednesday nights at 10 p.m. ET on SYFY.
