I’ve decided to finally join to shine a spotlight on kids across the country who need our help and support during this difficult time. My friend @jennifer.garner and I are launching @SAVEWITHSTORIES – a spot to watch your favorite celebrities read your favorite children’s books. We are galvanizing as a community to support a new fund for a combined effort between SAVE THE CHILDREN and Share Our Strength’s NO KID HUNGRY (and a big thank you to our founding publisher, Scholastic♥️). ⁣ ⁣ THIRTY MILLION CHILDREN in the United States rely on school for food. School closures will hit vulnerable communities hard and @savethechildren and @nokidhungry are on the ground and ready to serve. They just need our help! ⁣ ⁣ These funds will help us make sure that families know how to find meals when schools are closed, support mobile meal trucks, food banks and other community feeding programs, provide educational toys, books and worksheets, and support out-of-school-time programs to help kids make up for lost time in the classroom. ⁣ ⁣ If you can manage a one time gift of $10, please text SAVE to 20222. If another amount would work better for you, please visit our website—link in bio. There is no maximum and there is no minimum—together we will rise and together we can help. #SAVEWITHSTORIES

Amy pointed out that “30 million children in the United States rely on school for food,” which poses a huge problem considering states and communities around the country already began taking steps to limit the spread of COVID-19. In order to reduce human contact, schools are being closed, public gatherings are being canceled, public transportation is being modified and more.

“We are galvanizing as a community to support a new fund for a combined effort between Save the Children and Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry,” she continued while adding “a big thank you to our founding publisher, Scholastic.”

“These funds will help us make sure that families know how to find meals when schools are closed, support mobile meal trucks, food banks and other community feeding programs,” the Golden Globe winner — who is the proud mom of daughter Aviana, 9, with husband Darren Le Gallo — explained.

Amy added their new campaign will also “provide educational toys, books and worksheets and support out-of-school-time programs to help kids make up for lost time in the classroom.” Amazing!

Fans praised Jen — who also shared the exciting news on her personal Instagram — and Amy for their incredible act of kindness during this unprecedented pandemic. “Wowww, this is so sweet,” one user wrote, while another echoed, “You are amazing!!!❤️ Keep inspiring!” A third fan chimed in, writing, “You are doing a great work.”

Amy and Jen, 47, aren’t the only Hollywood stars who have shined a light on the deadly coronavirus outbreak. On March 16, Arnold Schwarzenegger enlisted the help of his pet donkey and pony to share a PSA on the importance of staying “at home.” Donny Osmond also offered fans some tips and tricks for battling loneliness and isolation after social distancing measures were put in order to help contain the spread of coronavirus.

“If you can manage a one time gift of $10, please text SAVE to 20222,” Amy wrote as she concluded her post. “If another amount would work better for you, please visit our website — link in bio. There is no maximum and there is no minimum — together we will rise and together we can help.”
