When Darren Le Gallo recently joined his wife of three years, Amy Adams, for their first joint red-carpet interview at the 2019 Golden Globes on Sunday, January 6, he admitted, “I like to stay back and just be supportive.” But Amy, 44, was thrilled to have her man by her side.
“This is so fun for me,” she gushed. “I’m smiling so big!” The couple, who gave a shout-out to daughter Aviana, 8 (“I like embarrassing her,” Amy joked), have never been shy about showing their affection. Darren often says how “grateful” he is for “my love” and “better half,” and Amy’s just as smitten. She previously told Marie Claire, “It’s sexy to see him raising [Aviana] and teaching her how a man should treat her in a lovely way.”
Amy and Darren, 44, got married in 2015 and in a previous interview with the UK’s The Times magazine, Amy explained that commitment wasn’t the only reason why she wanted to tie the knot with her now-hubby.
“We always had the commitment but now he’s stuck with me and I can really act out,” Amy joked. “I’m kidding. The truth is, I feel a stronger sense of family, a bigger sense of permanence, which is a nice thing for me.” Although the couple wed three years ago, Amy and Darren have actually been together for more than 15 years.
“I avoided getting married for a really long time because I don’t like people looking at me,” she previously revealed to E! News. “I don’t like to be the center of attention. When I’m promoting a film I can sort of be there for the film and I can be there for the director.”
Amy may not have loved all of the attention that she got on her wedding day, but she did look amazing in her custom Marchesa wedding gown and had a “great time” with Darren and their families.
