When comedian Jay Mohr made fun of Alyssa Milano’s weight earlier this month, the actress admits that the comments upset her.

“It was hurtful,” the 41-year-old reveals, “that’s why I was like, ‘all right, I’m just going to put myself out there and see what happens.’”

In responding to Jay’s comments on Twitter, Alyssa decided to take the high road, simply tweeting: "@jaymohr37 So sorry you felt the need to publicly fat-shame me. Be well and God Bless. Please send my love to your beautiful wife.”

And the fan support she received in the aftermath made her happy she spoke up against the bullying.

“I think it’s important for people to remember that there are human beings that get hurt by such things, so yeah, I am happy with all of it,” the actress says.

Alyssa also talked about the tabloids’ obsession with celebrity weight loss, after Jay suggested that she didn’t “really give a s—“ about her physique after having a baby.

“I think the support I got was a testament to perhaps the fact that women are just really over hearing about celebrities weight, especially post babies, it’s just enough already,” Alyssa says.

Even when pressed with further questions about his antics, the “Project Runway All-Star” host chose not to insult the “Suburgatory” star.

“I don’t think he’s a dumb person, I just think he had a moment that was not, he was not mindful. But I like to think that he knows what’s going on in the world, pretty smart guy,” she added.

And on a different note, though Alyssa denies working with her “Who’s the Boss” co-star Tony Danza at the moment, she says she “would love to work with him” again! Now that’s something we can't wait to see!

Stay classy, Alyssa!
