Age is clearly just a number for Ali MacGraw! The 79-year-old Love Story actress — who will celebrate her 80th birthday in just a few days on April 1! — was spotted out and about in her adopted hometown of Tesuque, New Mexico earlier this week and looks amazingly fit and fabulous in the new pics.

During her outing, Ali was photographed visiting a local market and later a nail salon in nearby Santa Fe while dressed cutely but casually in a pair of jeans, a sweater over a black turtleneck and a matching knit scarf. She accessorized the look with a pair of black boots, a coordinating boho shoulder bag, statement earrings and a black scrunchie to pull her gorgeous silver stands away from her face.

After reaching mega-fame in 1970’s Love Story alongside costar Ryan O’Neal, Ali went on to star in other popular movies including The Getaway, Convoy, Players and Just Tell Me What You Want. However, in the mid-1990s, Ali decided to leave Hollywood and acting behind and moved to New Mexico where she’s lived ever since.

She previously traveled from Malibu to Santa Fe when a friend asked for her help decorating a house and Ali quickly fell in love with the locals and world travelers who visited New Mexico. “I created a life for myself with those kind of people and community service and animals, and it’s been wonderful,” the star once said of her decision to leave California behind. “I love as you go further up in New Mexico where there is no one, the landscape is completely jaw-dropping — the sky, the clean air, endless miles of vista.”

Today, Ali enjoys life away from the spotlight and regularly practices yoga and meditation. As for whether she’d ever return to acting in the future? The actress has surprisingly admitted that she hasn’t totally given up on the idea. “One of the lucky things for someone my age is that I’m open and curious. There’s not just one thing I love to do and feel bereft if I can’t. But I know that I’m not happy when I’m not doing something creative,” she has said.
