The world was truly shocked when Alex Trebek revealed he was diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer, but he has since received plenty of support, especially from fellow TV game show personality, Vanna White.

“Oh I’ve been supporting him 100%,” the Wheel of Fortune star, 62, exclusively told Closer Weekly while at the Race to End MS Gala on Friday, May 10. “We’ve known each other for over 30 years, of course. And even though he’s on a different show, we’re still the same family so I’m there and supporting him and praying for him.”

Vanna also offered an update on Alex, revealing, “He’s hanging in there. He’s a strong man and he has got such a strong will to conquer this.” He’s “very good, very good. He’s a funny man. He’s funny, he keeps himself entertained and he entertains others with his humor,” she added.

Vanna’s close pal, and host of Wheel of FortunePat Sajak, also opened up about the Jeopardy! host’s news a bit after it was known by all. “The Sajak family is deeply saddened to hear of Alex Trebek’s struggle with cancer,” he said on Twitter. “Our hearts go out to him and his family. But there is no one I know who is stronger and more determined, and I would never bet against him. We, and the entire country, are pulling for you, Alex.”

Earlier this month, the 78-year-old sat down in his first live interview since revealing his diagnoses. “People all over America have been sharing their good thoughts, their advice, their prayers,” he gushed to Robin Roberts on Good Morning America. “And I feel it’s been making a difference.”

He continued, “It’s great to be considered an inspiration to people. I’ve had so many contacts from people who have survived cancer. I am now a 30-day survivor … I’m going to catch up to those other people.” Alex added, “I’m fighting through it.”

Everyone seems to agree that Alex is quite strong and will get through this. We wish him nothing but the best!
