As if we needed another reason to love Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez even more! Thanks to the MLB Network, an old video from 1998 has resurfaced, showing the former Yankee — who was just 23 at the time — admitting that his “dream date” would be his now-fiancée.

In the clip, the 43-year-old can be heard being asked, “What would a dream date with Alex Rodriguez be?” Without hesitation, the former pro baseball player confidently gushed, “Jennifer Lopez,” as he adorably smiled ear to ear before adding, “hopefully you can find me a date with her.”

It looks like A-Rod’s wish came true, as the couple shared news of their relationship with the public in 2017. The handsome hunk reposted the sweet clip and hilariously joked that he knew their date was going to happen one day. “I just had a feeling,” he wrote alongside a laughing emoji.

Her soon-to-be hubby’s re-post definitely pulled on Jen’s heartstrings considering she took to the comment section with the sweetest response. “OMG… I love this too much,” the Second Act star wrote.

Fans were over the moon when the “Jenny From The Block” singer and the Sunday Night Baseball host announced their engagement in March. Alex popped the question nearly two months after they celebrated their two-year anniversary of dating with a massive 16-carat diamond ring while on a romantic vacation in the Bahamas.

While paying a visit to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in mid-April, Alex recalled the time leading up to the engagement and how he needed quite a bit of help from his assistant.

“I planned it for about six months and it was on a beach in the Bahamas,” he explained to host Jimmy Fallon. “I had the ring, but what was interesting is the three days prior to me going down on one knee and getting engaged was I rehearsed three days in a row. I wanted the sunset to be perfect.”

Alex clarified that he wasn’t alone during this rehearsal. “Well, I had my assistant actually with me,” he said with a laugh. “One time the sunset was at 6:27 [p.m.], the next day 6:29 [p.m.] and then the third day it was raining. So, I kind of came out at around 6:29 [p.m.] and it worked out well.” Aww!

Although Jen and Alex are in “no rush” to get married, we can’t wait for their upcoming nuptials!
