Congratulations are in order for Alanis Morissette! On Monday, March 25, the singer announced on Instagram that she and her husband, Mario “Souleye” Treadway, are expecting their third child together. Alanis revealed the exciting news by sharing a black-and-white photo in which she flaunts her baby bump during a recording session at home.

“So much NEWness…” she captioned the sweet post with four red heart emojis and 11 praying-hand emojis. Alanis and her rapper husband are already proud parents to two kids — son Ever Morissette-Treadway, 8, and daughter Onyx Morissette-Treadway, 2.

Shortly after Alanis’ son was born in 2010, she opened up about how much motherhood had changed her in a blog post on iVillage.com. “Life literally and figuratively moved through me that morning of December 25,” she said about her son’s birth. “Yet another example of life’s unsentimental and ruthless way of shaking me awake to the direct experience of being human. I had no idea the person I’d always dreamed of becoming was being born at the exact same time.”

It wasn’t until 2016 that Alanis realized that Ever was starting to discovering himself. “He’s just coming into his own,” the “Ironic” singer said in a previous interview with Us Weekly. “We’re having real bona fide philosophical conversations. About anything — about aliens, about the galaxy, about what God is, about animals. You just cross your fingers behind your back and you hope you don’t blow it.”

Being a mom to Ever also affected Alanis’ as an artist. She previously explained to NPR that motherhood had influenced her music “in the sense that I was able to finally have my maternal energy channeled into an appropriate relationship — versus having done it super-dysfunctionally with ex-boyfriends and in professional relationships. Being a mom with my actual son was very appropriate.”

We can’t wait to hear the type of songs that Alanis will write about baby No. 3!
