The 23-year-old is part of the troupe of professional dancers who work for the hit ABC dance competition series but have not been paired with a celebrity that season. But with one-half of Team Maksimum Heat injured, Alan stepped in to help former Glee star Heather Morris perform her jive routine. Keep reading to learn more about the dancer!
He learned Maks and Heather's jive routine in just one day.
He quickly jumped in to learn their dance that Maks and Heather had been practicing all week, and Heather praised him for his quick learning skills during this week's episode.
Maks was grateful that Alan was there to take his place.
"Thank You to [Alan] for stepping in at the last second and doing a great job!" Maksim wrote on Instagram.

I'm so proud of @heatherrelizabethh for getting it done in an amazing fashion! I'm sorry I couldn't be next to you, but I promise to work harder than ever and get my ass back to the ballroom as soon as humanly possible! HUGE (but not that huge 😜) Thank You to @alanbersten for stepping in at the last second and doing a great job! And finally, to all our fans… I've said in the beginning of the season that I was back because of how supportive you've always been to me and I promise that this isn't the last you've seen of me. I will make every effort to make you proud yet… In the mean time PLEASE VOTE FOR #teamMaksimumHeat !!!
He helped Heather earn one of the highest scores of the night.
Alan performed alongside Heather for a high-energy jive to Little Mix's hit "Grown," and their routine was enough to prove to the judges that Heather could take their critiques from last week and work them into her new routine. Their hard work paid off because the jive earned an overall score of 30/40 from the judges.
"So proud of [Heather]! It's not easy switching partners last minute, and you definitely pulled it off! [Maksim] get well soon!" Alan tweeted the day after their successful performance.
This is his fourth season on the show.
He first joined the DWTS troupe during Season 20 of the show, and he's also filled in for Mark Ballas when he got hurt during Season 22, and he stepped in when Gleb Savchenko injured his knee.
He might move up to pro status soon.
The Minnesota native got his start in dance while he was a contestant on Season 10 of Fox's dance competition show So You Think You Can Dance, but he only made it to the final 12 before he got eliminated. But it looks like it's only a matter of time before he gets promoted from the DWTS troupe to a full-time pro since that's how current mainstays Sharna Burgess, Peta Murgatroyd, Emma Slater, and Sasha Farber started out their careers on the show.
