Jennifer Lopez and her fiancé, Alex Rodriguez, are bringing a whole new meaning to the term “blended family.” Not only have they shown us how easy it is for two people to get along when they already have kids from past marriages, but they’ve also made us realize how important it is for your children to love your partner.
Since they began dating in 2017, A-Rod and J.Lo wasted no time getting to know each other’s kids. As fans know, Alex is a proud father of two daughters — Natasha and Ella, both of whom he shares with Cynthia Scurtis. The baseball star and his ex-wife tied the knot in 2002 but divorced in 2008. Jennifer and ex-husband Marc Anthony are also parents to their twins, Max and Emme. The former couple was married from 2004 to 2014.
Despite their failed romances, Jen and Alex have effortlessly mastered coparenting their kids while simultaneously raising one beautiful, blended family. The couple, who got engaged in March 2019, is extra excited to make their family official as they gear up to tie the knot. As she opened to Variety in August 2019, the beloved actress and singer revealed why her relationship with her handsome fiancé has been one of her life’s greatest blessings.
“There were times in my life when my career was going great, and my personal life was going OK,” the Second Act star gushed at the time. “And there were times my personal life was stable, but my career was not great. This is the first time where I have a really beautiful alignment between the two. I think Alex brought that for me. I love it. We have a beautiful life.”
While giving some insight on their unbreakable bond, Jen said some of their favorite hobbies include supporting each other’s careers. “He loves being at every show that he can be at,” she marveled. “I go to all his baseball games.” The “On the Floor” songstress even gushed about the feeling she had when she and the Back in the Game star crossed paths for the first-ever time back in 2005 when they were both still married.
“We shook hands, and it was this weird electricity for, like, three seconds,” she sweetly told Sports Illustrated in June 2019. “Three to five seconds of looking at somebody right in their eyes, and getting stuck.”
