“I’m Real” singer Jennifer Lopez and fiancé Alex Rodriguez are bringing a new meaning to the term “blended family.” Not only have they shown us how easy it is for two people to get along when they already have kids from past marriages, but they’ve also made us realize how important it is for your children to get to know your future partner.
Since they began dating in 2017, A-Rod, 44, and J. Lo, 50, wasted no time getting to know each other’s kids. As you may know, Alex is already a proud father to two daughters — Natasha, 15, and Ella, 11, both of whom he shares with ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis. Even though the couple got divorced and went their separate ways in 2008, they never stopped loving their children.
Jennifer and ex-husband Marc Anthony are also proud parents to their 11-year-old twins — Max and Emme. In 2014, the former couple called it quits and Marc, 51, went on to marry Venezuelan model Shannon De Lima that same year, though they ultimately separated in 2017.
Despite their failed romances, Jen and Alex have effortlessly mastered coparenting their kids while simultaneously raising one beautiful, blended family. The couple, who got engaged in May 2019, are extra excited to make their family official as they gear up to tie the knot.
As she candidly opened to Variety in August 2019, the beloved actress and singer revealed why her relationship with her handsome fiancé has been one her life’s greatest blessings.
“There were times in my life when my career was going great, and my personal life was going OK,” the Second Act star gushed at the time. “And there were times my personal life was stable, but my career was not great. This is the first time where I have a really beautiful alignment between the two. I think Alex brought that for me. I love it. We have a beautiful life.”
Jen even said some of their favorite hobbies include supporting each other’s careers. “He loves being at every show that he can be at,” she said, specifically referring to her recent “It’s My Party” tour in honor of her milestone 50th birthday. “I go to all his baseball games.”
The “On the Floor” songstress even gushed about the feeling she had when she and the Back in the Game star crossed paths for the first-ever time back in 2005 when they were both still married. “We shook hands, and it was this weird electricity for, like, three seconds,” she sweetly told Sports Illustrated in June 2019. “Three to five seconds of looking at somebody right in their eyes, and getting stuck.”
