“I’m Real” singer Jennifer Lopez and fiancé Alex Rodriguez are bringing a new meaning to the term “blended family.” Not only have they shown us how easy it is for two people to get along when they already have kids from past marriages, but they’ve also made us realize how important it is for your children to get to know your future partner.

Since they began dating in 2017, A-Rod, 43, and J. Lo, 49, wasted no time getting to know each other’s kids. As you may know, Alex is already a proud father to two daughters — Natasha, 14, and Ella, 11, who he shares with ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis. Even though the couple got divorced and went their separate ways in 2008, they never stopped loving their children.

J. Lo and ex-husband Marc Anthony are also proud parents to their twin kids — Max and Emme, both 10. In 2014, the former couple called it quits and Marc went on to marry Venezuelan model Shannon De Lima, though they ultimately separated in 2017.

“I always planned to get married again,” J. Lo admitted during an appearance on the Today show after A-Rod popped the question in early May. “I want to spend my life with somebody. I want to grow old with somebody. I think that’s the goal, right? To find a partner to kind of walk through this crazy thing with.”
