Sydney Sweeney is set to play Hollywood icon Kim Novak in her upcoming biopic, but the Vertigo actress is not thrilled about the casting.
“I would never have approved,” Novak told The Times of London in an interview published Friday, March 27.
According to the 93-year-old starlet, Sweeney, 28, “sticks out so much above the waist.”
The film, which is set to be directed by Colman Domingo, will chronicle Novak’s then-controversial relationship with singer Sammy Davis Jr.
“There’s no way it wouldn’t be a sexual relationship because Sydney Sweeney looks sexy all the time,” Novak told the outlet. “She was totally wrong to play me.”
“I don’t think the relationship was scandalous,” she said of her romance. “He’s somebody I really cared about. We had so much in common, including that need to be accepted for who we are and what we do, rather than how we look. But I’m concerned they’re going to make it all sexual reasons.”

Novak and Davis Jr. — who will be played by Industry alum David Jonsson in the film — were romantically linked in 1957. Columbia Pictures boss Harry Cohn allegedly pressured the pair to end their relationship by threatening Davis with the mob, according to Deadline.
