General Hospital’s Gary James Fuller (James West) recently shocked fans with a revealing social media post. An accident led the young star to a hospital stay that involved multiple surgeries, but he promises that he’s happy and on the mend.

‘General Hospital’ Star Injured

The 10-year-old Fuller started his Instagram post with, “I pulled a James,” referring to his character’s penchant for mishaps that land him in the ER. In the last year, James has had a skating accident and a sledding accident. He also had an incident at the lake a few summers ago, with Cody (Josh Kelly) having to rescue his young nephew. The young actor went on to explain what happened, accompanied by a photo of himself in his hospital gown with a big smile on his face.

“If you watch General Hospital, you know James has spent his fair share of time in the ER. Apparently I decided that playing him wasn’t enough—I had to try it myself,” the post read. “What started as a ride on my mini bike turned into a trip to the trauma center, two surgeries, and almost a week in the hospital. Definitely not how I planned to spend my week.”

While Fuller wasn’t thrilled with the food during his hospital stay, he was grateful for the doctors and nurses who took such great care of him. He admitted that the ordeal has been scary, but he’s being brave. “There wasn’t much I could do except be brave, crack a few jokes, and focus on getting better,” he wrote.

One of the bright spots after Fuller’s accident was seeing how much the GH cast and crew love him and how much they rallied around him in support. “I got so much love from my castmates, casting, wardrobe, my studio teachers, agents, manager, and so many people behind the scenes,” Fuller admitted.

Fuller’s GH co-stars also rallied around him on social media, with multiple stars commenting on his post and wishing him well, including Tanisha Harper (Jordan Ashford), Bradford Anderson (Damian Spinelli), and Sawandi Wilson (Isaiah Gannon).

Currently, James’ mom, sisters and pseudo stepdad Spinelli are exploring the Grand Canyon while James stays with his grandparents in Port Charles. Hopefully, fans will see him again soon after Fuller has made a full recovery.

General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC and streams each weeknight on Hulu.
