Ann-Margret, 84, Forced to Cancel Appearance After Suffering Fall in Her Home

Ann-Margret suffered a terrifying fall at her home that forced her to cancel a public appearance.

“I fell the other day and so now my right elbow is broken,” the beloved actress told Parade on Saturday, April 11. “That’s okay … I have fallen so many times. I don’t intend to, but I do! What can I say?”

As a result of the incident, Ann-Margret — who will turn 85 on April 28 — had to skip an autograph signing. However, she told the outlet that she is on the mend.

“I’m going to try and be really really careful and not flop down, not fall again, but one never knows!” she explained.

Ann-Margret’s career has spanned seven decades with roles in iconic films such as Bye Bye Birdie, Carnal Knowledge, The Train Robbers, and Any Given Sunday. The Viva Las Vegas star is scheduled to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2026 Chita Rivera Awards in New York City on May 16.

The Academy Award nominee is working towards her recovery with a personal trainer, telling Parade, “Now I’m just doing things with my legs.”

“I have a gentleman that comes Tuesdays, Thursdays and sometimes Fridays [to help with] all sorts of exercises,” she revealed. “If I don’t do that, I’ll probably start saying, ‘Well, I don’t know. I’ve got a cold. I’ve got this, I’ve got that.’ But this man keeps me going.”
