Al Pacino Is a Dad to Son Roman With Noor Alfallah: Inside His Relationship With His Youngest Kid

Al Pacino became a father again in June 2023 in his 80s when he welcomed son Roman Pacino with Noor Alfallah. The Godfather actor also has three other children from previous relationships.

Al and Noor, who is 54 years his junior, were first linked in April 2022 and were spotted out together in public on rare occasions. In May 2023, it was confirmed via a rep to multiple outlets that Al was expecting his first child with Noor.

“Al loves being a father and always has. He is excited,” a source told People in June 2023. “Being a parent is and always was an important part of Al’s life.”

The little one was born in June 2023. During an October 2024 interview with The New York Times, Al made a rare comment about Roman, saying, “He’s come into the world a little more now. He’s learning things.”

The Academy Award winner released his memoir, Sonny Boy, that same month, where he talked more about becoming a father again in his 80s. He said that having Roman was “one of the reasons” why he decided to open up about his life in the book.

“I look at this little baby, my son Roman, who has recently come into my life, and I say, wow, look at you. It just gives me a chuckle every time I look at him,” he wrote.

“When he was three or four weeks old, I would think, what does he know about anything?” Al continued. “There he is, sitting there. Nobody’s touched him, in the way of influencing him. He’s just there. So, he’s got everything going for him. He’s like a little Buddha.”

Al detailed an interaction he had with Roman when he was a few months old.

“Now this little baby is talking, really going at it. I couldn’t believe how much he was talking. Not saying a word, just baby babble, but talking like he really wanted to say something,” he explained.

“I thought, he’s trying to reach me. He’s talking to me, and he’s telling me where he came from,” Al wrote. “He’s saying to me, ‘Dad, there’s a place I’ve been and it’s great. It’s a place you’re going to go to soon and you’ll see how great it is. I can’t talk but I just want to get it out. Because soon I’ll learn how to speak words and I won’t remember anymore.'”

In October 2024, Al shared an update on his relationship status, telling People that he and Noor “have a friendship.”

“Al and Noor are very good friends, have been for years, and are coparents to their son Roman,” a rep for the star told the outlet.

In an October 2024 interview with the BBC, Al said that he communicates with his son via text and that he does not live with him.

“He does text me from time to time,” the Jack and Jill actor said. “Everything he does is real. Everything he does is interesting to me. So, we talk. I play the harmonica with him on the other video thing, and we have made this kind of contact. So, it’s fun.”

“I want to be around for this child,” he said. “And I hope I am. I hope I stay healthy, and he knows who his dad is, of course.”

Despite no longer being in a romantic relationship with Noor, an insider told Closer in January 2025 that Al “clearly depends on Noor and needs the companionship.”

The source said that Al “calls her up all the time and they go out, sometimes he calls just to talk because he gets lonely these days.”
