RIPIconic Star Zsa Zsa Gabor Has Died at Age 99

Rest in peace, Zsa Zsa Gabor.

The Hungarian actress and socialite — who was famous for being famous! — sadly died from a heart attack on Sunday, Dec. 18 after suffering from dementia for the past five years. She was just shy of 100-years-old at the time of her passing.

“I am pleased that she is finally out of her misery,” her longtime rep, Ed Lozzi, confirmed in a statement to Variety. “For the past five years, Zsa Zsa has suffered chronic dementia, locked away in her mansion laying in a hospital bed being fed through tubes in her naval, not able to speak, see, write or hear. Nor knowing who she was or how famous she was.”

Zsa Zsa had unfortunately undergone many health issues over the past few years. In 2002, she was involved in a car accident that left her paralyzed. Just three years later she suffered a stroke, and in 2010 a broken hip lead to her having to later get her leg amputated.

Throughout her lifetime, Zsa Zsa was well-known for her beauty as well as her plethora of TV roles, where she often played herself. The star was additionally married nine times, most famously to Paris Hilton‘s great grandfather in the 1940s.
