This past weekend meant a lot of family time for Kevin Bacon, whose daughter Sosie made her Hollywood debut as Miss Golden Globes. And the actor loved every second of it!

When asked about sharing the stage with wife Kyra Sedgwick and his adult daughter, Kevin revealed how excited he was to see Sosie in the spotlight.

“Oh it was cool,” the actor shared at an event for his TV series “The Following.”

“The best part of that was, I always say you’re only as happy as your least happy child. To see the happiness in my children is the thing that I hold dearest. She really had a good time with it and if it was a nightmare, then she wouldn’t have done it but she enjoyed it.”

The star also revealed that his only daughter is “auditioning quite a bit” and he’s been trying to give her some helpful advice.

“We’ll work on auditions or we’ll talk about things that she’s seen, work that she’s seen, stuff that she’s doing in acting, so it’s good,” he said.

“None of my children really watched our movies but now that’s kind of shifted because now we actually have something to offer by way of experience.”

And though the actor was at first hesitant about letting Sosie enter the industry, he’s loosened his grip on the reins.

“You know she is twenty-one years old and I think my first instinct was, ‘I don’t know if I want to subject my kid to this life of judgment and scrutiny and rejection and it might be amplified by the fact of who her parents are,’” Kevin shared.

“But you know what, if you’ve got it in you and it’s there then you’ve got to do it.”

Don’t forget to watch Kevin on “The Following” which comes back to FOX for a second season on Jan. 18 at 9 pm.
