The 81-year-old TV star and author — who is also well-known for creating and portraying McDonald's personality Ronald McDonald — began his career at NBC in 1950 and has since spent more than 12,000 mornings entertaining his fans on the Plaza!
To pay tribute to their longtime co-worker and friend, Al Roker and his fellow Today co-anchors reminisced about Willard's long and successful career during the show's Tuesday, Dec. 15 episode. They even announced that Rockefeller Plaza had been named Willard Scott Way for the day!
Best wishes on your retirement, Willard!
