NBC viewers have been wondering one thing during their morning TV watching, and that's what happened to Tamron Hall from the Today Show.
The truth? In early February 2017, Tamron abruptly announced she was leaving the popular talk show after nearly three years (she allegedly turned down a multi-million dollar contract to stay). "Yesterday was [Tamron's] last day as an anchor on both networks. Tamron is an exceptional journalist, we valued and enjoyed her work at Today and MSNBC and hoped that she would decide to stay. We are disappointed that she has chosen to leave, but we wish her all the best," a statement from NBC News read at the time.
Tamron soon released a message of her own. "The last 10 years have been beyond anything I could have imagined, and I’m grateful," she said. "I’m also very excited about the next chapter. To all my great colleagues, I will miss you and I will be rooting for you."
After news of her exit broke, many believed she was leaving because of Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly's unexpected addition to the show. Reports suggested Tamron was informed Megyn was taking over her third hour of the Today Show moments before going live on the air.
"Just a few days ago, [Tamron] received an email from the executive producer congratulating the 9 a.m. team for being No. 1 for the last seven weeks," a source revealed to People. "Then on Friday, minutes before going on MSNBC they told her that she and Al [Roker] are being taken off the air."

"She couldn’t believe they told her right before she had to go on air. She was definitely shocked," the insider continued. "In Tamron Hall style, she went on air and acted like the classy professional that she is."
While it's unclear what Tamron is up to now, rumors have circulated that she is considering joining Kelly Ripa on Live With Kelly. According to Page Six, Tamron recently discussed the potential job opportunity with television producer Henry Schleiff at an NYC restaurant.
"He was encouraging her to join Kelly," a source told the entertainment news outlet. "He said, 'Throw your hat in the ring! Lighten things up.'" Kelly and Tamron would make the best on-screen pair, that's for sure!
