- What was your life like before the weight loss?
My life before my weight loss was very boring, I was the biggest couch potato. I was not able to enjoy the outdoors or the little things with my kids. I was very depressed.
- How did you get started with your weight loss journey?
In April 2014, I changed my eating habits and [started] getting active little by little and I lost 20 pounds on my own. Then one day my fiancé found out about a weight loss competition sponsored by Personal Trainer Food for brides-to-be and I thought 'Why not?!' They provided me with all of the meals I needed [and] in 10 short weeks I lost over 30 pounds! I went from a size 18 to a size 6! I changed my diet by eating real food and home cooked meals. I cut out starchy carbs and dairy products. My only workout regimen during my weight loss was walking 2,000 or more steps daily. Now I am working on building muscle, so I [weightlift] 4-5 times a week. Personal Trainer Food is the best thing to ever happen to me!

- What were the most difficult aspects of losing the weight?
The most difficult aspects of losing weight for me personally would have to be the emotions — I was a huge emotional eater. Whether I was happy, sad or just angry with the world I had to eat something! I have learned to control that now.
- How does it feel now that you've lost the weight?
Now that I have lost the weight I feel amazing! I am comfortable in my own skin and shopping for clothes is something I can actually enjoy! [My] advice [for] people looking to lose a lot of weight is to stay focused and trust that everything you are doing to improve yourself is working, whether you see it on the scale or not. It takes time and it will not happen overnight — it's not magic. It takes a lot of work and consistency. Everyone has the power to achieve any goal that they set for themselves but they have to remember why they started and have faith in themselves.
