Natalie Cole has sadly died. She was 65-years-old.
The Grammy winner and daughter of late jazz icon Nat King Cole and singer Maria Hawkins Cole passed away from complications from an ongoing health condition at Los Angeles' Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Thursday, Dec. 31, according to the Associated Press.

"Natalie fought a fierce, courageous battle, dying how she lived... with dignity, strength and honor. Our beloved Mother and sister will be greatly missed and remain UNFORGETTABLE in our hearts forever," a statement released by her son, Robert Yancy, and sisters Timolin Cole and Casey Cole read.

Natalie — whose hits songs include "Unforgettable," "This Will Be" and "Inseparable" — suffered from many health problems throughout her life. She revealed a lifelong battle with substance abuse in her 2000 memoir, Angel on My Shoulder, and underwent a kidney transplant in 2008 after being diagnosed with Hepatitis C.
