Tracy Morgan is getting candid about the devastating car accident that left him hospitalized in 2014.
In a new interview, the 47-year-comedian opens up about that very difficult time in his life — and sadly reveals that he contemplated suicide during those days.
"My thoughts – I was in a very dark place. I was sitting right here, contemplating suicide. I couldn't walk," he admits to Rolling Stone.

Tracy suffered a broken leg, nose and ribs in addition to a traumatic brain injury when a Walmart truck slammed into a limo van carrying the star and his friends on the New Jersey Turnpike in June 2014. His pal, James McNair, was killed in the accident. The star spent 10 days in the ICU before entering a rehab facility to undergo extensive physical therapy.
"It's gonna take more than 18 wheels for me to get out of here. I have to raise my girl, raise my wife, raise my family," he tells the publication, adding that his collection of exotic pets was another motivation. "Gotta keep my octopus alive. Gotta keep my sharks alive. Those are God's creatures! I'm needed!"
The SNL alum and his wife, Megan Wollover, began dating in 2011 and married in August 2015. The couple welcomed their two-year-old daughter, Maven, in July 2013. Tracy is also dad to three adult sons, Gitrid, Malcolm and Tracy Jr., from his first marriage.
