Well, this is unexpected...
According to a new report, Tom Cruise recently approached his ex-wife Nicole Kidman about the two co-starring in a new movie — and filming love scenes — together.

"Nic was stunned when Tom reached out to her about working together again," a source revealed to Australia's New Idea magazine. "And she was even more taken aback about what he had in mind... especially as he wants them to do love scenes."

If this new project does come to fruition, it wouldn't be the first time the formerly married couple has appeared onscreen together. Tom and Nicole previously co-starred in Days of Thunder (1990), Far and Away (1992), and Eyes Wide Shut (1999).

Tom, 54, and Nicole, 49, tied the knot on Dec. 24, 1990 and later adopted two kids — daughter Isabella, 24, and son Connor, 22 — together. The A-list couple called it quits after 11 years of marriage in 2001.
In a recent interview, the Oscar-winning actress candidly opened up about reaching mega-stardom for starring in 2001's Moulin Rouge after her high-profile divorce from Tom. "I was catapulted into huge fame — it all sort of coincided in the sense of that, it was a lot. It was a lot," Nicole said in November 2016.
"But I'm so glad I did [everything] and at the same time pushing through that stuff — one, it was a great thing to do because [as] people who have gone through things a lot of the time will tell you 'just day by day' and you push through it," she continued.

"Everyone was just so good to me and was just like 'come-on, off we go, onward' and it's a great life lesson — onward!" Nicole added.
