Hoda Kotb is ready to start her weight loss journey in 2017!
The Today show host announced her New Year’s resolution to drop a few pounds while live on-air yesterday — and she was even brave enough to reveal her starting weight to millions of viewers.
“I’m gonna tell you something that kind of depressed me little this morning,” the 52-year-old told her co-star Jenna Bush Hager. "So you know when you have a good night because you don't eat much because you're in front of your boyfriend and then you get up in the morning and you work out and you're like, 'Yes, yes, yes?'" she said. "I got on the scale and I took a picture of it and I weigh — I’m just gonna say it — 152 [pounds]."

Hoda embarked on her weight loss journey for the Today show’s new fitness campaign, #startTODAY. She joined her fellow anchors Jenna and Craig Melvin, and each star has their own team of coaches to help them reach their goals.

Cycling instructor Sue Molnar is on Hoda’s team to help her with her fitness, Angie Johnsey will help Hoda be more mindful and present, and Today show nutritionist Joy Bauer will help Hoda clean up her eating habits.

In order to help her reach her goal of dropping a few pounds, Joy advised Hoda to take everything she wanted to snack on in-between meals and instead of putting it in her mouth, place it in a plastic bag.
Hoda shared a photo of her snacks on Instagram, which included a mini York Peppermint Pattie, Hershey kisses, mints, grapes, and a handful of popcorn.
