In a photo posted by The White House on Flickr, we're reminded just how different our country was sixty years ago.

While taking a tour of the Brown v. Board of Education National Historic Site in Topeka, Kan., First Lady Michelle Obama and Chief of Interpretation and Education, Stephanie Kyriazis, are seen standing under signs designating separate bathrooms for whites and blacks.

It's a compelling image, given the first lady of the united states wouldn't have been able to share a restroom with the woman standing across from her less than six decades ago.
