At 80-years-old, James Drain never thought he'd have the chance to go to a high-school prom — until his granddaughter, Joy Webb, asked him to be her date!
"She said ‘I would love that! You’re the one I wanted! Hey, will you come to the prom with me and be my beau?’ And I said I sure will!” Grandpa Drain explained.

“My family is everything to me, and I love him so much, and it’s just like really special to me because I know not many people get to do that. And I know he loves me and I love him, and it’s just really neat and special,” Webb said.

Not only did the duo experience prom for the first time more than three generations apart, but Drain said she also helped him cross another item off his bucket list.
“This is my first appearance in a tuxedo! First tuxedo I’ve ever had!” the Albertville, Ala., native said, to which Webb sweetly replied, "[He] is my prince for the night!”
