As part of the Today Show series, "At Home with Today," correspondent Jenna Bush Hager invited the cameras into her downtown New York City loft, including daughter Mila's nursery.
“Everything in here means something,” Jenna says of her 17-month-old daughter's room. And although the space is painted blue — "I was actually so certain that I was having a boy" — the color "still has a feminine touch."
Although the nursery is accented with a brass antique mirror found in Baltimore and a white contemporary crib picked out by Laura Bush, Jenna's favorite part is the collection of art that hangs on the exposed brick wall.
“[Husband Henry Hager and I] realized that the majority of people were giving us art at baby showers and it all meant something,” she shares. “We created an art wall so Mila had something to gaze up at.”
The display includes cross-stitched wall hangings given by Jenna's twin sister Barbara, pieces from Henry's mother and an original painting by former President George W. Bush.
“For my baby shower in Texas, my dad painted this picture of Bernadette which is our cat that we adore,” the 32-year-old fondly recalls. “It’s one of his first works. He’s gotten better.”
