Getting fit and staying in shape is now an easy task — thanks to TV icon Suzanne Somers from Three’s Company and Step by Step! The actress created the Somersize diet, and it’s a simple way of eating by cutting down on your carbohydrates intake.

In 2002, Suzanne published the book Suzanne Somers’ Fast and Easy: Lose Weight the Somersize Way with Quick, Delicious Meals for the Entire Family. The publication gave readers insight on how to lose weight and stay healthy by also combining specific foods following the main idea that certain foods should not be eaten together.

The 70-year-old also suggests ignoring or very much limiting the following foods: dairy (like milk and yogurt), sugars like syrup and honey, starchy vegetables, and carbs including white rice and nuts. However, she is an advocate for going with green veggies and fruits and upping your protein and fat count. The best part about this diet is that calories don’t count! And on top of that, you don’t have to worry about portion control or weighing your food or any of that nonsense.

Suzanne has since written a plethora of books about Somersize, and even has an entire line of workout equipment and supplements to go with the healthy eating regimen. On her website, you can purchase protein shake mix, leg supplements, her books, a thigh master and butt master band, and more!

What’s most inspirational about Suzanne’s way of life is she understands age is just a number and you can be in the best shape of your life no matter how old you are. “I want to epitomize what the new 70 looks and feels like — it’s sexy!” she told Closer Weekly in a previous exclusive interview. “At 70, you still have your ‘juice,’ and you also have confidence.”
