In addition to his role on Star Trek, the star appeared on hit TV shows including Dr. Kildare, That Girl and The Beverly Hillbillies. He later retired from showbiz to become a professor at St. Cloud State University in Minnesota, where he taught courses in both the Theatre & Film Department and the Communication Studies Department.
“There were so many layers to him,” Bruce's wife, Susan, told EW of her late husband. “He was an actor, a singer, a musician, a writer, an artist. He had so many different complexities to him, but I think the thing that best fit him was being a teacher. He was able to blend all of those in his teaching.”
Our thoughts are with Bruce and his family during this difficult time.
