Just more than two weeks after Nick Loeb filed a lawsuit against his ex-fiancée, Sofia Vergara, over the former couple's frozen embryos, the 'Modern Family' star is speaking out about their custody battle.
In a new interview on Howard Stern's radio show, Sofia, 42, said the lawsuit "makes no sense" because a child "needs a loving relationship of parents that get along, that don't hate each other."
"A kid needs parents," the actress continued. "I wouldn't imagine anyone saying that it's sane to bring [into] the world kids that are already set up [with] everything wrong for them. It would be so selfish."

Last month, Nick, 39, filed legal documents suing Sofia for ownership of frozen embryos the couple previously created through in vitro fertilization. In an op-ed for the 'New York Times' published on April 29, the businessman argued he should have the right to prevent the star from destroying their cryopreserved eggs.

“A woman is entitled to bring a pregnancy to term even if the man objects. Shouldn’t a man who is willing to take on all parental responsibilities be similarly entitled to bring his embryos to term even if the woman objects?" he wrote.

During her sit-down with Howard on Monday, May 4, Sofia noted she isn't worried about a judge siding with Nick as the lawsuit goes to court.
"[He] signed papers, legal papers, and if it was so serious for him, this issue — which I totally respect it is serious for someone — then you should have taken it more serious at the time like I did," she explained. "I don't hate him, but he obviously has a problem with me!"
The beauty — who is currently engaged to 'Magic Mike' star Joe Manganiello — split from Nick last May after nearly four years together.
