Lee Greenwood is proud to be an American, as anyone who’s heard his perennial hit “God Bless the USA” can tell you. And he’s just as proud of the majestic Nashville, Tennessee–area home he shares with his wife, Kim, and their sons, Parker, 16, and Dalton, 20.
“I go to beautiful resorts all over the country but I never have time to use them,” Lee, 72, shares with Closer. “Kim created this beautiful oasis for me, so I can enjoy some downtime when I’m not traveling.”

Indeed, the six-bedroom, five-full-bath and two-half-bath home they’ve owned since 2002 has many of the amenities you’d find in a luxurious, five-star destination — including a huge swimming pool with a hot tub and waterfall. “When you have two teenage sons, they and their friends utilize the space a lot,” Lee says with a laugh.

One clue that this isn’t just any country singer’s dream home is the gigantic “USA” emblazoned at the bottom of the pool. And while you may think it’s a tribute to the big 1984 hit that made Lee a household name, that’s only half the story. “Kim is director of the Miss USA pageant in Tennessee, Georgia and Mississippi, so we agreed that we would put it in red, white and blue to represent what we both do,” he says.

This outdoor recreation area — where they proudly fly an American flag — has given Lee some of his favorite memories. “We’ve had a lot of birthday parties, end-of-school-year parties, parties with over 100 people and a DJ — you name it,” he says with a smile. “We love to have the kids and their friends over when we do.”
In the cooler months, Lee and his family enjoy spending time together in their spacious living area, which boasts an air hockey table and large flat-screen TV. “We love to relax in here,” says Lee. “We kept the colors soft, warm and neutral because we wanted people to come in and feel at ease.”
