Simon Cowell has bestowed a new title upon himself following the wedding of George Clooney last month: "World's Most Eligible Bachelor."
Because of the Oscar winner's recent marriage to Amal Alamuddin after years of high-profile hook-ups, the "X-Factor" head honcho is convinced he now holds the moniker.
"I'm the only iconic bachelor left in the entire world — thanks for that George Clooney," Simon said in a recent interview, adding, "I think it's a title I'll keep for a while longer if I'm honest. I've never said no to marriage but then again I couldn't imagine having a kid at one point and now look at me."
The 55-year-old welcomed his first child with girlfriend Lauren Silverman last Valentine's Day, a surprise for both parties considering Lauren was married at the time they learned of the pregnancy in the summer of 2013.
"I guess I was always nervous I may not end up getting on particularly well with the person I was going to have a kid with and I didn't want to make the wrong decision," the Brit said of his hesitation to settle down.
Now that the pair are "very happy," Simon admitted, "I'm probably in a far better position to be a father now than I would have been ten years ago," though he confessed he's "not exactly a hands-on-dad."
